Collavate 2017 Fall Update Release: Revision History, Team Drives and Non-Gmail Login

Version 3.12 of Collavate has many improvements and new features, such as a revision history archive and support for team drives.

Another new update is that you can sign up Collavate with any email address. Yes, you don’t need a Google account to login to the Collavate application! You may also connect your personal Gmail to your Collavate account to manage your Google Drive to join Collavate’s powerful collaboration process features.

What’s New?

1. Change history of document file

Now you can view, comment or share your changes on all documents and files stored on Google Drive using the revision history feature.

In particular, you can set up archiving so that the version remains on for 30 days after clicking the lock icon in the upper right corner of each version number box. You can save the version to my computer by clicking the download icon.

For Google documents, you can also download change history by version. Collavate documents and file tracking keep track of all changes made to Google Drive. Please refer to the
help guide for more detailed usage.

2. Support for G Suite Team Drives

Collavate supports Team Drives supported by Google G Suite Business Edition. You can see the Team Drive folder shared with you or owned by you in the Collavate Drive menu. You can download the file from the Team Drive menu or upload the file to your team drive, as shown in the following screenshot. In addition, Collavate DLP, the Google Drive Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) solution now works with Team Drives.

3. Collavate Independent Account Services

Now, even if you do not have a Google account, you can sign up directly to Collavate. If you do not have a Google account, you can create a new account and login as usual. Please see this help guide for how to create it.

You can use the home (post) menu after logging in as a Collavate account. If you create a group, a group file repository will be created in the Collavate’s own Google Cloud Storage (up to 2 gigabytes).

By logging in with your Google account, you and your colleagues will be able to communicate in the Home (post) menu and post group.

However, in order to join a group that uses Google Drive as a repository, you need to associate your Collavate account with a Google account.

Once you’ve linked your personal Gmail or Google Maps Suite account to a Collavate Independent account, you can use all of the features of Collavate. In the future, we will also be able to manage users in our company’s personal Gmail account through a Collavate account.

4. Homepage is now 3x faster

Improvements in the home menu UX and traffic distribution have increased the initial loading speed of the callback by two times. Especially, when the login authentication is completed, the page loading is completed in about 3 seconds. This can be up to three times faster than the previous time of up to 10 seconds.

This version of Collavate 3.12 also has the following minor improvements:
(1) Enhanced keyword search function
