Collavate Unlocks Unlimited Google Drive Storage for Personal Gmail Users

Google Apps Unlimited Edition, introduced last week at the Google I/O 2014, provides unlimited storage space, document encryption, and auditing features on top of Google Apps for Business.

Since it provides unlimited storage space, users of Google Apps Unlimited no longer have to worry about running out of storage space and having to purchase extra storage.
That’s great news for the Google Apps customer who can upgrade to Google Apps Unlimited, but not for the personal Gmail user for whom this feature is unavailable.

So, even if a Google Apps Unlimited customer shares a folder with a personal Gmail user, and the personal Gmail user uploads the file, the file will consume the storage capacity of the personal Gmail user, and the personal Gmail user will not enjoy the benefits of the domain’s unlimited storage.
However, now with Collavate’s Remote Drive User feature, personal Gmail users may also take advantage of the unlimited storage provided by Google Apps Unlimited.

How?
By being invited to be a Remote Drive user of a domain that has Google Apps Unlimited!

When a Personal Gamil user selects the domain in which he or she wishes to work, all of the work performed in that domain gets saved in the domain’s storage and not in the personal Gmail user’s storage
When a personal Gmail user is invited to become a Remote Drive user, the personal Gmail user acquires access to the domain and its unlimited storage for any work done on the domain.

The personal Gmail user selects the domain in which he or she wishes to work and all of the work performed in that domain gets saved in the domain’s storage and not in the personal Gmail user’s storage.

With Collavate’s Remote Drive feature, the personal Gmail user can also utilize document encryption and auditing as well..
So, install Collavate on Google Apps Unlimited and invite personal Gmail or other Google Apps for Business account holders as Remote Drive users.

Invited Google Apps or Gmail users can log into Collavate as Remote Drive users and create or upload files to Google Drive.
Remote Drive also allows for the automatic transfer of ownership of created/uploaded documents and files are on Google Apps Unlimited account.

This not only permits personal Gmail users to utilize unlimited storage, it also protects the domain so that shared documents are not lost or misappropriated.
