Collavate 3.10.2 Release Notes

Now you can send an email to your Group’s unique email address to relay your email as a post to your group. The group post will include the email’s subject, message, and file attachments.

The Email to Group Post feature has been added to Collavate’s version 3.10.2. There are various ways send emails to your unique group email address:

  • Forward Emails to Group
  • Compose New Emails to Group
  • Set up your FAX machine to automatically upload e-mail contents and file attachments to Group

This allows certain types of emails to be automatically posted to your group, promoting project management and collaboration. In addition, you can collaborate around corporate Social Networking Site (SNS) without using e-mail by forwarding content directly to your Collavate group.

Use case: auto-post eFAX file on Group

For example, if you are receiving faxes from a company’s email, you can automatically post the incoming fax attachment to a Group and notify the relevant personnel.

To set it up, create a group and invite people involved in your work to join as group members if you do not already have an existing group.

Then in your Group, go to the “Email” tab located under the group banner and copy the group’s email address.

You can manually forward received emails to your group’s email address, or can enable automatic forwarding settings in your email services to send certain emails to the Collavate group for you.

To set up automatic forwarding email settings for files your FAX machine receives, you must enable “receive and post e-mails from non-group members”. This allows forwarded emails to be posted to a group, even if they are not members.

In the future, all new faxes will automatically be posted to the group post, and the fax document file will be automatically saved in the group’s Google Drive folder.

You can also apply this case to customer relationship management (CRM) or support help desk. For example, a salesperson can forward an opportunity to a Sales Post group by forwarding an email to post in the group and discuss with team members via group post.

Intranet Portal Integration

In addition, you can make email posts appear on intranet portals through the widget function provided.
